Projectile Device Project

Fall 2018

Purpose - The goal of this project was to design and build a device which launched a mass to a predefined location.

Early Ideas - These are some brainstorm ideas for the product.

Final Design - These are CAD models and drawings of our finalized design.

Construction - To build this device we constructed the base and supports out of plywood. Then we added a cardboard cylinder for the barrel. We also added in a 3D printed clip piece to hold the cylinder to the supports, as well as the launching springs. Finally, the springs attached to a rod which launched the mass inside the cylinder.
